Backpack Essentials!

For blog #10, I wasn't so sure what I was going to write about. I thought about my trip to Universal Studios, but I shut that down (for now) because I didn't really want to write about another one my trips and all the things to do while in the park. As a result, this post will be all about backpack essentials and my go-to objects.

As a girl whos been road tripping since she was 10, a two-strap backpack is my go-to. I love having a backpack full of all my activities in one place. A backpack has multiple sized pockets which helps me keep everything organized. A school sized backpack is what I use and will continue using. I have used multiple backpacks over the last eight years, but the backpack that I used on my last roadtrip to the Mighty 5 National Parks Spring 2020 is from Target. I would rate the backpack a 4/5 stars only because there is a zipper the goes along the bottom of the bag, and I have absolutely no clue what the purpose of it is. Other than that, the backpack can hold a bunch of stuff, but if you aren't carful it will start to hurt your shoulders.

My next object would be my laptop, only because since school has turned digital I've needed a homework platform. I didn't have a laptop until the first few months of 2020 when Coronavirus started. Before school moved online all my class assignments would be on paper, so in which case I would need a clipboard and writing utensils (which I still include, at least the writing utensils). My laptop allows me upload assignments and blog (when I hit the road again). Don't have much to say about having a laptop, but having one is nice. especially when you have Wi-Fi, service or a hotspot.

Object #3 is music! Any form of music. I use Spotify Premium which allows me to listen without any ads, create unlimited playlist, download my playlist so when I am without service I still have music. I have way too many playlists to count but if you want to follow me on Spotify, here is my profile link. Liberty Adams on Spotify Music helps the time pass if you plan to be in a car or vehicle for long periods of time.

Number 4 =  a blanket/pillow. The long rides can get tiring, so having the comfort of home with you along your journey creates some ease. I normally bring a blanket because the car can get cold. I also keep a hoodie up front with me. The hoodie gives me a make-shift pillow for when I want to sleep. I tend to sit in a corner seat by the window so can I lean on that for head support.

Card games is huge must-have on any overnight family trip. If the person I sit by is board and I'm board, I'll normally pull out a deck of cards and the two of us will play a game of some sort. Our go-to game is lucky idiot, Texas speed, speed, or any other game that we can think of and isn't hard to play in the car. When we are at our hotel or house with a hard surface the cards are likely to come out since there is more space to lay everything out, you also don't have to worry about losing cards in the car while going over bumps or into dips.

Music and school can get you board, so I will bring my paperback kindle. I don't know what it is, but I love my kindle 10x better than an actual paperback book. My kindle allows me to read at all times of day without having to provide another light. I can read without bothering anyone. I read YA love romance books by Kasie West, The Mother-Daughter Book Club by Heather Vogel Fredrick, Maximum Ride series by James Patterson any many others. Reading helps relax, and if it's a good book... time just flies by.

What is something that you always have with you, that isn't your phone? Your wallet. You never want to leave that at home by accident especially if you'll be gone for a while. I always have my wallet in an accessible pocket, so it's easy to grab if wanted. Besides having my card with me, I also keep cash and coins. Coins are rare, but if I don't cash them before I leave, I have coins without having to break any of my big dollars. Make sure that you're credit union knows you will leaving on a trip, whether it is out of your state or into another country. It would suck if they froze your card and you couldn't use it anymore. Long story short, make sure that you always have cash with you when on a vacation, you never know when you're gong to need it.

Snacks!! Any trip requires snacks. My family tends to have two snack bags and two coolers that last us the whole time we're gone. As a group we decide what we want, and my parents will go and get the snacks. I always have my own stash of treats in my bag, just for myself. So if I don't want what's in the bag, I can pull out my own sugary treat. Treats consist of Cheese-its, beef jerkey, go-gurt, apples, trail mix, etc. Keep a look out for a future post related just to snacks!

This is my backpack essentials, not my suitcase 😂 This is just my car bag, in the future I will write about everything I include in my suitcase. Let me know in the comments or by sending me a message, what your travel backpack essentials consist of, I would LOVE to hear them. Until next time!
